History of DTP

Celebrating 24 years as your family outdoors escape in 2017! Deer Trail Park is a family owned and operated campground. Back in 1994, Sharon and Robb Rose decided to leave Milwaukee for the country in order to bring up then 6 year old son Justin. They purchased 78 acre Deer Trail Park and embarked on a new lifestyle. Robb and Sharon ran the entire operation by themselves the first few years. (Although Justin would occasionally sell wood out of a red wagon by the log) They worked long and hard hours making improvements and changes to the park over the years. In 2002, Jenny a new addition to the Rose family was born. Justin and Jenny have enjoyed growing up on the campground property, spending nearly every waking hour in the summertime out on the grounds with our camping friends. In the Spring of 2011 a week before Memorial Day, DTP landed smack dab in the middle of a tornado's path which dramatically altered the skyline. Luckily, no one was hurt, and now many of our seasonal's have newer units ;). We tell you this because the amount of shaded camping area was reduced. We have planted over 300+ trees in response. Presently, DTP has 185 sites to choose from, almost all of which have water and electric hook ups. We also have sites overlooking Ross Lake. Our large, level sites can accommodate any camping unit. Deer Trail Park Campground is a fantastic place to bring your family for a fun and exciting camping get-away. We have overnight, seasonal sites, and cabin rentals. In addition, we have all the features you have come to expect from a modern facility including: bathrooms and showers, FREE Wi-Fi hot spots, outdoor pavilion, and convenience store. The kids will never say the their “bored” with amenities like basketball, playground, volleyball, heated swimming pool, mini golf course, gaga ball, tetherball, game room, fishing lake, and horseshoes. We also plan weekend activities including wagon rides, crafts, kids activites and more for the whole family. Central WI is also a great place to spread your wings and check out the community. There are attractions surrounding Deer Trail Park like 36 mi Petenwell Lake or you may enjoy hunting, horse-back riding, golf or the casino. Check out our local interests for more fun in the area.
